Purple Inspiration
While searching for cool furniture finds on Ebay for my last post, I ran into some Hollywood Regency style dining chairs for a great price! Since my husband would never let me do something this daring in our own house, I am putting together a fantasy dining room starting with the chairs as inspiration...
Let's pretend their all side chairs because I want to put these arm chairs with them

My Style
I came across these pictures on Desire to Inspire and absolutely LOVED the style! I really like the combination of natural and cultural elements mixed with the clean lines and neutral color palette with pops of color. I am definately saving this in my file for personal inspiration! The designer is Kara Mann. Her style is very timeless with natural and modern elements.

Industrial Modern Kitchen
I saw this kitchen in Dwell Magazine a few months ago and was really inspired by the "cabinets". This is really a unique way to add another level of architecture to the kitchen. Instead of the traditional cabinets like we see in most kitchens they have hung shelves covered by sliding glass panels. I also love how the shelves are staggered asymmetrically.

Library Lounge
In my opinion, this is a really cool concept for a bar/lounge. Feels nice and cozy like a Library, but serves alcohol. I love the feminanity of the white and polished nickel mixed with touches of brown for a well balanced look. The table is fantastic!
These are actually store fronts in a furniture showroom Powell and Bonnell. The theme is Ode to Balvenie Scotch Whisky. Don't mind if I do!

Mood Board
Every time I see a bulletin board covered in sketches, fabric samples, and inspiration pictures it really evokes a sense of motivation and creativity. I really love the idea of putting all these things together on a board to inspire and remind you of all the things you are loving at the moment, whether they pertain to an actual project or not. This picture really makes me want a really zen office/studio with lots of personality! One day...

ASID and the Public's Perception of Interior Designers
I thought this was a great article of a designer's opinion of ASID credentials and how television has created a false sense of what designers do and how they run a business. This really makes me question the necessity of an ASID affiliation. Check it out!
